Four different sorts of coloured pepper give this wonderfully smooth seitan-lupine slice an aromatic, mildly spicy aroma. And like all L'Herbivore grill slices, the mixed pepper slice can be fried in a pan just as quickly and it's also great as a tender, meat-like addition to savoury dishes like soup and stews.
Preparation: Fry in a pan at medium heat with oil for four to six minutes, season if necessary and then serve immediatly. When added to soups, sauces or stews, the seitan acquires a smoother consistency and remains wonderfully juicy. Either fry it with the other ingredients at the beginning or add it later. If you wish to prepare it in the oven, make sure that there is enough liquid available (e.g. in the casserole), or wait to add the slice towards the end of the baking time (e.g. on pizza or tarte flambée).
